How Do I Apply?Thank you for your interest in the Fort Lewis Riding Club! The application is pretty simple, you will need to: email us as fortlewisridingclub.wa@gmail.com and once we get back to you fill out the application. Then, write a short bio about you, your horse and what kind of riding you like to do, and a picture of your horse(s), $25 money order or cashier's check, application fee non-refundable please mail this to the address at the top of the application or if already local someone can meet you at the barn to take a money order we also accept paypal which is fortlewisridingclub.wa@gmail.com (please make sure to add a note in there to let us know what it’s for). You or your spouse's orders assigning your family to JBLM. Once we have received everything from you we will vote and if you're approved you will receive an email back. If retired or a dependent of a retiree please provide the retirees ID's rather than orders with the application.

How Much Does It Cost?FEES: • $25 application fee, non-refundable • $100 stall deposit, per stall • $50 membership fee, this is an annual fee • $37 vet checkout of quarantine, per horse • $75 monthly board, monthly per horse

Does My Horse Need Any Vaccinations?Yes, we do require vaccinations, health certificate, and coggins test results. IMMUNIZATIONS- each of the vaccines must be listed in the paperwork submitted, (on health certificate, veterinarian invoice, etc.) and must include the brand name, lot number, and expiration date. -Tetanus Toxoid - within one year -Eastern/Western Encephalomyelitis - within one year -West Nile Virus - within one year -Rabies - within one year -Influenza - within six months -Rhino pneumonitis - within six months -Strangles (not required but highly recommended) -Coggins - Negative results within 6 months. -Veterinarian health certificate- within 30 days.

Does My Horse Need To Be Quarantined?Yes, your horse(s) will have to enter our quarantine area for ten days before being allowed to its stall. Please coordinate with us for your arrival, someone from the BOG must be there to let you into quarantine. At the end of quarantine the JBLM base veterinarian will come out and do a health check on your horse(s) and once given the all clear your horse(s) can go into their stall. The veterinarian does require a fee at checkout.

Where Does All That Horse Manure Go?Everyone out at the barn takes a turn hauling the manure trailer to the farmer in Yelm and dump it. Each run you get $10 from the barn. When you scoop up the manure from your horse(s) you go up the ramp and dump it into the trailer. Every few days someone takes it per the rotated schedule. The trailer is insured for FLRC members.

What Is Work Call?In order to keep our boarding fee low and affordable for our military families, the club holds a work call on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, to make any repairs to the facility that may be needed. These work calls are mandatory for all members to attend. If you are not able to attend please contact our Vice President to schedule a make up day. Those who do not make up their work call hours will be fined $25 per hour missed.
